I still remember the day (It was only 3.5 years ago!) that I walked into the bank, sat down in front of a loan officer, and filled with embarrassment handed him my financial paperwork. I knew I was meant to do this business. I knew I COULD do this business.Read More
Have you ever been really, really sick? And in those dark moments when you’ve got your head in a bucket, or a pile of tissues the size of Mt. Everest beside you, or you’re counting the number of days you’ve been taking cough medicine just to make sure you haven’t surpassed the legal limit, you think to yourself…
“I will never take another healthy day for granted. I will never stop rejoicing when I wake up and don’t need to vomit, or sneeze, or cough, or run to the bathroom. Every day is a gift! If I ever feel normal again, I won’t waste another second!”

Before Brian and I had kids, we took a month off and backpacked Europe. I remember someone telling us, "Enjoy this while you can because once you have kids there will be no more of this."

More often than not, I'll receive an email from a publication or a text from a friend letting me know of a feature they saw of one of my weddings.Read More
Before I had Stella, when it was just Brian and me, I would wake up at 5 am every day. I’m one of those rare introverted extroverts: when I’m on, I’m totally on, but I need time to myself to re-energize and recharge. I loved having time all to myself, before Brian was up, to prepare for my day.
Then I had Stella. After being up all night with a baby, the last thing I wanted to do was wake up at 5 am. Shortly after, I had the boys. Same thing. Somehow, five years have passed since I regularly woke up at 5 am. And I miss it.
Let’s say the average person wakes up at 7am everyday.Read More
